Getting a Departure Time
Tap To and choose where you're going — search for it, pick Home, Work or a favourite, or drop a pin on the map. Set Arrive by to the time you need to be there, then tap the green button. The card turns over and shows the time you need to leave.
The Buffer
Buffer is the time you want before driving: getting ready, finding the car, parking at the other end. Whatever you add is subtracted from your departure time, so a 10-minute buffer means leaving 10 minutes earlier.
Getting Reminded
Tap Remind me after the calculation. You'll get a Live Activity counting down on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, and a notification the moment it's time to go. If nothing appears, check that notifications are allowed in Settings › Notifications › Time To Leave! and that Live Activities are turned on there.
Keeping the Time Accurate
The app re-checks your route in the background and updates the countdown. For this to work reliably, turn on Settings › General › Background App Refresh. You can also refresh by hand with the button on the Live Activity or in the app.
The Traffic Bar
The bar under the departure time splits your route into twenty stretches from start to destination, coloured by current conditions. Green is flowing, amber is slow, red is congested — so you can see whether the delay is near you or waiting at the far end. The label underneath compares the whole trip right now against the same trip with empty roads.
The same colours are drawn onto the route on the map, from the same measurements, so the two always agree. Tap the ⓘ next to the departure time for a short explanation of how all three numbers are worked out.
Home and Work
Open the From or To page, find the place, and save it as Home or Work. From then on it shows as "Home" or "Work" everywhere in the app instead of the street address.
Changing Language
The app follows your iPhone's language automatically. To use a different one, tap the flag badge at the bottom-left of the main screen and pick from the 36 available.
If the Departure Time Looks Wrong
Travel times come from Apple Maps and reflect traffic as it is right now, not as it will be later. For a trip several hours away, re-check closer to the time. If a route can't be calculated at all, confirm the destination is reachable by car and that you have a network connection.
Your Free Trial
The app is free for seven days, counted from the first time you open it. Everything is switched on during the trial: there is no card to enter, no account to create and nothing to cancel. The days remaining are shown at the bottom of the main screen.
Reinstalling does not start the trial again — the clock is tied to your device, not to the app's data.
After the Trial
When the seven days are up, tapping anywhere in the app opens the Pro page, where you can choose a one-time purchase or a yearly plan. The app stays readable in the meantime; nothing you saved is lost.
Restoring a Purchase
New iPhone, or reinstalled the app? Open the Pro page from the badge at the bottom-right of the main screen and tap Restore purchases. Anything bought with the same Apple Account comes back at no charge.
To cancel a yearly plan, go to Settings › your name › Subscriptions on your iPhone. Deleting the app does not cancel it.
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us: request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
